Why Barefoot Yoga

Yoga connects us to ourselves through body, breath and mind allowing us to develop greater focus and self awareness. Yoga is more than achieving physical poses but using these poses to undo tension in the body. These positive benefits are available to everyone regardless of age, body type or fitness level. Our group classes cater to all levels of experience from absolute beginners to seasoned Yogi’s. Workplace Yoga and one to one sessions are also available. Our Group Classes


We run our classes at venues in Sumner and Templeton in Christchurch. We teach several different styles of Yoga and are available for private classes. Our group classes are run as drop-in classes so you don’t have to sign up to a full term. You can buy a concession card which allows you to attend any or all of our classes. Our group Yoga classes are suitable for absolute beginners to experienced students.

We are based in Christchurch and can come to you. Our workplace Yoga classes are tailored to the needs of your staff and industry. At Desk Yoga

Can be as short as 15 minutes. Focused on helping your staff to stretch, move and release mind and muscle tension in a fun non-threatening way. 

Lunch time classes

Can be as quick as 30 minutes! In the lunch room, board room or the warehouse. Full body stretch and release. Improve focus, increase productivity and relieve stress.

Conferences and Events

Start your day at conference with a 30 minute class to warm up the body and wake up the mind. Or start your after lunch session with a quick stretch and release session. Your afternoon presenters will thank you for it!

60 - 75 minute classes

Hatha, Vinyasa or Yin classes are also possible on-site before or after work hours.

About


Most of my working life has been spent in the corporate world while simultaneously raising my twins alone. I found Yoga gave me the quiet space I craved while dealing with the everyday pressures of work and family life. I practised Yoga when I needed to slow down, to feel grounded and connected. Yoga gave me the tools to remain calm in the chaos, maintaining my focus and energy. The added benefits of better sleep, strength and flexibility were the cherry on top!


In 2015 a sports injury bought me to Yoga again. Rehabilitating from this injury sharpened my appreciation for the physical benefits of Yoga. I decided to become a teacher. In 2017 I completed my first 200 hour training with Katie Lane. Plus additional training in Yin Yoga and Myofascial release with Jo Phee. I firmly believe that Yoga can have positive benefits for everyone regardless of age, body type or fitness level. I look forward to sharing your journey with you.
